Pierrette Mastrogiovanni

As far as I remember I always had a passion for animals but more specifically for horses.

Here is a resume of my journey :

Les écuries Braveheart

As a lot of people I started by doing horse trek ;

1995 - I’m getting signed up in a classic horseback riding school ;

I am conquered by the hunter and jumper obstacle courses.

1996 / 1997 - I sign up in another classic horseback riding school which is more competition oriented;

In this school I acquired more self-confidence and a lot of knowledge that are still useful each and every day.

1999 - I buy my first horse named Turbulent;

During competition it is named Braveheart because of his strong-will and his huge heart to perform and succeed.

Turbulent teached me a lot, about everything.

2003 - Turbulent gets retired and it’s time to have a new horse : Tuff-Tuff which is 4 years old. During competition his name is The Patriot.

Tuff-Tuff already have a good idea of what to do but still have to get more training, more experience and more knowledge. We also have to get to trust and know each other.

It was and still is very different with this horse. While Turbulent was a teacher for me, Tuff-Tuff and I are learning together and still today he shows me new knowledge I couldn’t acquire with an older horse.

2006 - I decide to retire from competition and we take the decision to move to Saint-Lazare in a farmette where we can have Tuff-Tuff permanently with us and where I can continue training by myself whenever I feel for it;

1996 to 2009 - Participate in various clinics to learn about nutrition, first aid in case of injury, horseshoes and also courses to be able to judge hunter competitions.

2009 - Creation of « Les écuries Braveheart »;

My goal : To share my passion for horses and horseback riding with those who want to discover this sport.

It will be my pleasure to welcome you and

share with you everything I learned over the years.

Jean Dumoulin

My husband.

Throughout my courses and competition years Jean was always present therefore he had the opportunity to learn several information that are very useful today in managing our farmette as well as getting it secure.

Since 2006 Jean has done most of all the requested works in order to have the installation as we wanted it as well as improving it and improving what was already build.

He’s my « odd-job man ».

During your visit if you have any questions feel free to ask him. It will be a pleasure for him to give you the explanation you require.

Ghislaine Mastrogiovanni

My mother and best friend.

She loves animals : small or bigger dogs, cats and even parrots!

As far as I remember there were always animals at home.

Spring 2007 - My mother moves in with us.

As soon as she is here she gets involved in various small tasks that are helping us more than she can imagine :

· Make sure that the water tub for each horse has enough water and fills them up for the day after;

· Cleans up mangers and replace them;

· Check out on the horses to make sure everything is fine;

· If hay is needed during the day than she makes sure of giving it;

· Help cleaning the horses at night;

· During training she helps with the obstacle course;

· She’s the « baby-sitter » of our younger husky dog;

· Take care of the flowers;

As well as several other small actions.

Therefore my mother is an important part of Les écuries Braveheart.
